Depression Tribe

I suppose I should update my profile, because until now it was very out of date. Howdy! I'm an English major at my local state school, and I'm looking to become a high school teacher so that I can inspire my students as my teachers inspired me. I suppose I'm a generally nice guy, although a lot of people seem not to think so. Perhaps that is because I always say what I think, even if it is not the most appropriate thing to say. I try to control that, but I have trouble sometimes; at least I'm always honest. I don't have many friends, many interests, or many accomplishments, but... well, I guess there's no excuse for that. I look at myself as a flawed person; one who needs great improvement, both physically and mentally. I have depression, anxiety, OCD, ADD, several phobias, and MINOR mood swings. I used to have an eating disorder, and my mother is an alcoholic. With all of these problems, I am certainly not a complete person. I'm trying to become one, but I need help along the way. That's why I'm here: to receive the support I need to make myself a better person, and also to help other people along the way, so that they may become complete in their minds as well. I suppose that's it. If I think of something more to say, I'll add it later. Have a nice day.

I like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and many other nerdy hobbies. I like learning, but I don't like learning in a school environment (being in class is very taxing on my mind). I also like reading and writing, drawing, watching the news, watching movies, and playing SOME video games.

Many things, most of which are people. Oddly enough, I also find that I generally don't like music. There are some songs that I like, but I feel no significance with them. I can't just listen; rather, I have to watch a video of the song, and during that time I cannot do anything else. I guess I'm weird.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Meatloaf, ZZ Top, The Who, The Doors, Flogging Molly, Serj Tankian, Alestorm, Rammstein, Eluveitie, Turisas, Good Charlotte, Blink 182, Mustard Plug, and The Decemberists. I suppose that's all for now.

As I said in the "About" section, I'm an English major, so I read a lot. However, I am more interested in writing than reading. But either way, my favorite authors include, but are not limited to: Charles Dickens, Voltaire, Dante Alighieri, Lewis Carroll, Edgar Allan Poe, Frederick Brown, Stephen King, and H.G. Wells. In terms of poetry (to which I am only partially partial), my favorite writers are Robert Frost, Dylan Thomas, Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare, Homer, and Edwin Arlington Robinson.

I'm a minor movie buff, but my favorite directors are Quentin Tarantino and Stanley Kubrick. I like all movies, really (except romantic comedies; especially ones which star a slightly obese, young- to middle-aged male comedian with tight curly brown hair and a scraggly beard). I especially like really bad horror movies that I can make fun of with friends (even though I don't have many friends).

Not too many, I suppose. Homework is my main pastime, and I work and study like a dog (...that is somehow able to read). Also Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder, as I said before. I don't really have anyone to play with, so I just think up stories using the basic rules of the game, and prepare to play in case anyone suddenly comes along. I'm not very interesting.
