I'll describe myself, since I don't have a current pic. I've dark brown hair that's cut very short with a little gray, hazel eyes, wear glasses, and am about 5'5" and am overweight but not obese. People would say I'm shy and quiet, but that's because I don't talk very much. I have a speech disability that makes my speech sound strange. Also, I've a social phobia. But I like to write (as in blogging). And I'm highly sensitive. I'm bipolar--while about 80% of the time I'm down, fatigued and achy, once in a while I'm "up" (not wild as in manic, but enough to not feel the way I normally do.) And there's some anxiety mixed in there. I was diagnosed as AD/HD as a child, back in the Dark Ages of the 60's when that was called a "Learning disability." Which can be confused with bipolar--or you could have both. For many years due to lack of insurance I was trying to deal with this on my own, and by reading self-help books, but self-help books only help healthy people who have little problems--not people like me who are unwell. So that didn't work, and my bipolar kept getting worse. And causing me problems at my previous job and elsewhere. Then, sick of battling this on my own, I finally found a neighborhood clinic with a wonderful doctor who prescribed me a couple of meds and told me there's free counseling at his clinic. I know being treated is going to take patience, because the meds take time to work, and sometimes you need to keep trying different combinations, but thank God I'm finally on the road to recovery!
