Meaning of my page background...The "passion flower" is a woody vine that has unusual blossoms. Roman Catholic priests of the late 1500s named it for the Passion (suffering and death) of Jesus Christ. They believed that several parts of the plant, including the petals, rays, and sepals, symbolized features of the Passion, defined as: five petals and five sepals are ten apostles, leaving out Judas the betrayer, and Peter because he denied knowing Jesus. The purple carolla Bosio reportedly has seventy-two filaments, the number of thorns in Jesus' crown. The three pistil stigmas are nails. The five stamens are the number of wounds, so that to this day, Catholics in South & Central America call it "The Flower of the Five Wounds." The leaf represents the spear that placed the wound in Jesus' side (that one is a stretch since the leaves are five-lobed, but unlike some other species, this one's individual lobes are at least lance-shaped). The dark spots under the leaves are the 33 pieces of silver paid to Judas. When the flowers are spent after a single day (the time Jesus spent on the cross), the petals do not drop from the vine but re-close over the ovary, and this symbolizes the "hidden wisdom" that constitutes the "Mysteries of the Cross," and is likened to Jesus enclosed in the tomb. I was blessed to receive this information by my DT friend, "seekacu2."

The sunshine on my face; a nice breeze coursing my body; sleeping on the beach and watching the sun come up; watching and following the lunar changes; stargazing on a clear night; watching nature day-to-day with birdwatching a must; good conversation that provokes me spiritually and philosophically. Being a woman and the girly stuff that goes with it, being a "flirt" and above all passionate lovemaking.

My music is an expression of my spirituality and personality. Songs by "Lamb" I adopted from a former DT friend named 'Rosiestix;' 'There There' by "Radiohead" and 'Unfinished Sympathy' by "Massive Attack" I adopted from my friend 'RichardW's' page; 'Come' by "Namie Amauro" from my friend 'Occam's' page. I picked up the "Supertramp" 'Breakfast in America' CD from a friend; "Crazy" by "Gnarles Barkley (one true hip-hop artist) I heard on the radio; here is where I happened to hear 'Crazy Logic' by "Arty Fufkin" which is an amazing remix of the last two artists along with "Rockwell" (from one of his hit songs). I am a big fan of "Steely Dan" and get teased by my friends being the only woman they've ever heard sing 'Deacon Blues' in karyoke.
I have seen "Fleetwood Mac" five times live and have favorites of theirs in addition to a few by "Lindsey Buckingham" (one of America's finest guitarists whose creativity in style rocks my world. My bass guitarist friend, David, gave me a 'Reunion' CD (not for sale) of "Fleetwood Mac's" where I first heard 'Bleed to Love Her.' While I couldn't get Lindsey's song, I was able to pick it up as a 'preview mix' by "Bob, Bob, Dave, and Tony" which is pretty close to the real deal. Lindsey had one tune which I have on my list without a title, shown as 'MP3' (I believe called 'Lookin out for love' and his others are from his 'Plague of Angels' CD. While not on my list, other songs from the 'Reunion' CD I had can be found on "Fleetwood Mac's" album called 'The Dance.' Anything else on my list are selected favorites of British pop-rock, spiritual, or contemporary music that I've come across. Hope you like my selection of tunes. Enjoy!

I grew up in the 50s and during those years, movies were all in black/white. To this day I am a B&W diehard because acting was real, sets and scenes kept simple, violence was minimal and language wasn't indecent. Stars were famous and well-known and to see a star's name or new movie on the marquee was quite an experience.
Have you ever watched a silent film? Ever watched films from the 20s to compare to 30s, 40s, and 50s
films? Film and sound quality are markedly different between the decades as are wardrobes for actors/actresses, makeup, and sets become more elaborate.
As we moved into the late 50s/60s, technicolor was born and it seemed like movies took on a life of their own. But there was a price to be paid for progress in film technology...violence rose, acting took on a new persona with partial nudity and compromising scenes, and language became more explicit.
How many of you from the 50s and 60s can remember your local theater, paying just a $1.00 for a matinee, and as long as you kept your ticket you could pretty much get away with seeing the movie twice. Can you remember the balconies at those theaters (smile)?
Now that we've narrowed down the crowd, how many frequented the drive-in theaters? Remember the pics they gave out to ward off the offensive little 'squiters? How about the ads on film telling you to go to the concession stand for delicious hot dogs, ice cold beverages and popcorn? Those really were the days and I wouldn't have traded them for anything.
Most kids today wouldn't know who Cary Grant or Doris Day were, let alone Bela Lugosi or Lon Chaney. Remember Chiller Theater on Saturday nights? What I wouldn't give to relive watching those films again...short budgets with high audience ratings. Who can beat that? Well that about wraps it up. So as the announcer would say..."it's showtime!"
