I had an abusive childhood and ever since I have struggled with depression. Things were always "managable" I guess until I went to university to study to become a nurse. Lots of things were happening in my life that I couldnt cope with, and I hadnt dealt with existing problems so things were all just piling on top of each other. It got to a stage where carrying out things I was required to do everyday became impossible, so I decided to drop out of my course as I wasnt helping myself trying to carry on.
That was a year ago and I still working in the social care field, with people with learning disabilities which I really enjoy, but still struggle with depression and meet the diagnostic criteria for borderline personality disorder. The way I think can have a negative effect on relationships.
I'm looking to meet friends. Not to "wallow" with as that wouldnt be helpful to either of us, but would be nice to speak to people who understand and have been there as people who havent often feel uncomfortable at the mention of depression related things.
I'll stop blabbering now :p But if you wanna know more about me and chat would be great to hear from you!

Too many to pick out a few but I like a wide mix of contemporary fiction. I'm not keen on chick lit though!
